Liverpool player ratings v Tottenham as Curtis Jones shines and Roberto Firmino brilliant

Alisson Becker 6

Little to do first half other than pick the ball out of the net and almost caught out after break by Kane following slack pass.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 8

Good covering prevented chances for Bergwijn and Kane and a real danger with his delivery. Much, much improved after his disappointing showing at Fulham.

Rhys Williams 7

Plenty of touches early on to settle any nerves and fine crossfield pass began move for opener. Started to find life more difficult after the break, but maintained focus.

Fabinho 7

Steadying influence at centre-back and helped quell Kane. Lost one header when Bergwijn hit post but thrilled with one skilful passage of play second half.

Andy Robertson 8

Regular threat when overlapping down the left while defensively sound before break. Whipped in the corner for the winner.

Jordan Henderson 8

Prompted Liverpool and set the tempo while offering protection to the back four. Efforts more defensive in second half as Tottenham became more adventurous.

Gini Wijnaldum 8

Conducted matters throughout the first half as Liverpool dominated possession and territory. Responded well to more demanding matters after the break.

Curtis Jones 9

His forceful run paved the way for the first goal with his willingness to push on required against a packed defence. So composed. Excellent again.

Mohamed Salah 7

Lively down the right, forced one save from Lloris and netted the deflected opener. Regularly threatened but some crosses were hit in hope rather than expectation.

Roberto Firmino 8

Touch on point and caused problems when stepping back into midfield. Twice tested Lloris first half and continued to find pockets of space and use the ball well. Brilliant header for winner.

Sadio Mane 7

Pressured the Tottenham defence at every opportunity and among those to force a save from Lloris. Struck the bar after turning Aurier for the umpteenth time.
