A first half own goal was just enough for Liverpool to see off Ajax as they came out on top 1-0 against Ajax in their first Champions League game of the season.
After a fairly even first half the Reds took the lead on 35 minutes when Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico prodded into his own net while trying to clear a Sadio Mane shot.
Jurgen Klopp's side failed to create much in the second half but managed to keep Ajax at bay and managed to get over the line to win for the first time in four matches, in what will comes as a big confidence boost.
