Alisson Becker 9

No chance with Atletico's goals and made fine saves to deny Griezmann, Felix and Lemar before the break and Carrasco in the second half.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 6

Plenty of good creative passing and forward thrust, but exposed a few times too many defensively first half. Slightly more comfortable after the break. Booked and subbed.

Joel Matip 6

Decent on the ball but given far more problems than of late by the speed and intensity of the Atletico counter-attacks.

Virgil van Dijk 6

Some good moments but lost Griezmann for the second goal and occasionally flustered. Headed at Oblak second half.

Andy Robertson 6

A willing runner on attacking forays but final ball not quite there first half and given a test going the other way. Shot over from good position after break.

Jordan Henderson 6

Caught positionally in the defensive midfield role at times and too hurried when in possession. Shifted to a wider role when Fabinho was introduced.

James Milner 7

Plenty of work in midfield, used the ball economically and linked well with Salah at times. Booked and subbed.

Naby Keita 6

Excellent volley for the second and some good probing runs, but beaten too easily in the build-up to Atletico's first two goals. Subbed at half-time.

Mohamed Salah 7

Superb run in off the right flank prompted the deflected opener and just about got the better of marker Carrasco. Subbed.

Roberto Firmino 6

Some good interplay but at times became too involved in the midfield scrap. High boot on him prompted red card for Griezmann.

Good tackle with almost his first touch and sought to bring some composure to a hectic midfield.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (for Milner 63) 7

Fierce shot saved by Oblak shortly after his inclusion and tracked back well.

Brought on to help see the game out.
