Liverpool player ratings: Alisson Becker and Mohamed Salah good vs Crystal Palace

Alisson Becker 9

Pawed early Zaha effort on to post, clutched deflected Ward drive and excelled second half when regularly off his line and saving from the dangerous Eduoard.

James Milner 7

Pressed into service as emergency right-back and was no-nonsense defensively while offering an outlet going forward. Somehow escaped a booking.

Ibrahima Konate 7

Understandably nervy at start but showed strength in seeing off Zaha and blocking Benteke. Grew into game second half.

Virgil van Dijk 7

Busier than usual up against Benteke and retained composure. Given by far sternest examination following his return.

Kostas Tsimikas 7

Not an easy time coping with Ayew defensively but pressed forward regularly and corner deliveries prompted the first two goals. Booked.

Fabinho 7

Spent a lot of the first half probing from the edge of the Palace area but required in more defensive role second half as visitors pressed. Steady.

Jordan Henderson 7

Forced good save from Guaita with volley and brought energy to the right side of midfield. Booked and subbed.

Thiago Alcantara 8

Passing on point and creative, got in good positions and forced good save from Guaita with header but occasionally clumsy in the tackle. Injury forced substitution.

Mohamed Salah 8

Always dangerous and header prompted Mane’s opener. Earned applause for helping out Milner second half, and then thumped in second and corner provided the third. Booked.

Diogo Jota 5

Off target with header and angled drive in opening stages and guilty of horrendous miss from four yards. Not much happened for him second half. Subbed.

Sadio Mane 7

Dug out good cross for Henderson but struggled to shrug off close attentions of Palace defenders until pouncing for opener. Grew in confidence second half.

Naby Keita (for Thiago 62) 7

Forced into a largely defensive effort as Palace pressed and thumped in tremendous volley for third.

Curtis Jones (for Jota 76) 6

Had one shot deflected wide in bright cameo.

Divock Origi (for Henderson 88)

Minutes for the Belgian.
