Liverpool player ratings against Porto - Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane star to set up Barcelona showdown

Alisson Becker 8

Safe hands when dealing with a succession of high balls and clutched some dangerous efforts off the wet surface. A good display.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 7

Left a bit exposed down the right by Salah when up against Brahimi first half but stuck at it. More space going forward after break and played great pass for Salah's goal.

What Luis Suarez has said about Liverpool return as Reds bid for Barcelona Champions League semi-final

Joel Matip 8

An important figure during those wayward opening moments, making some good covering blocks and interceptions. Maintained his form throughout.

Virgil van Dijk 7

Strange to see the Dutchman all over the place during the opening 15 minutes, but slowly got to grips with Marega until the striker was completely disillusioned. Then went down the other end and scored.

Andy Robertson 7

Had much on his plate first half with Militao and Corona running hard down the right. A rare forward sortie, though, saw him involved in the build-up to the opener. Subbed.

Fabinho 8

The one Liverpool midfielder who kept things together during that difficult first quarter, fighting plentiful fires. A more considered showing after the break to get the job done.

Mohamed Salah's agent responds to Liverpool transfer speculation with perfect message

Gini Wijnaldum 6

Overwhelmed early on as Porto swarmed forward but, like many of his team-mates, grew into the game. Played a part in Mane's opener.

James Milner 7

Put in a great deal of effort first half even if the quality wasn't always there. Moved to left-back on Robertson's substitution and kept improving, assisting Van Dijk's goal.

Mohamed Salah 8

Didn't have much in terms of service before the break but when he did the Egyptian made it count with an assist for Mane. Tucked away his second goal with confidence.

Sadio Mane 8

On hand to initiate and finish the move for the opener and once again looked Liverpool's greatest attacking threat. Shame about that miss, though. Booked.

Divock Origi 5

Struggled to get into the game with the Reds on the backfoot, although not wanting for effort. Clobbered by Pepe towards half-time. Subbed at the break.

Roberto Firmino (for Origi 46) 8

Instantly made a difference with his pressing and hold-up play and helped start the move for the second, and headed in the third.

Joe Gomez (for Alexander-Arnold 66) 7

Great to see him back in action after so long on the sidelines.

Jordan Henderson (for Robertson 71) 7

Brought extra energy to Liverpool's play and provided a lovely cross for Firmino to score.
