Liverpool player ratings against Fulham as Curtis Jones good but Trent Alexander-Arnold disappoints

Alisson Becker 7

Good saves from Cavaleiro and Lookman but no chance with Decordova-Reid’s opener. Got wet second half.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 4

Huge problems up against the speedy Lookman and distribution disappointing for much of first half. Only slight improvement after break before being subbed.

Joel Matip 6

Troubled a little by the hustle and bustle of Cavaleiro but stuck to task. Back injury that forced him off at half-time will be concern, though.

Fabinho 6

Solid enough but heart in mouth with VAR call after one tackle inside the area. Became a little more progressive as Liverpool sought equaliser.

Andy Robertson 6

Started slowly and some difficult defensive moments but began raiding before the break. More of an attacking presence as Liverpool pressed second half.

Jordan Henderson 6

Put in a solid stint but any efforts to inject tempo were futile in first half. Then moved to centre-back and denied goal by fine Areola save.

Gini Wijnaldum 6

Barely involved in the opening exchanges but at least kept things tidy when on the ball. Better when dropping into defensive midfield role after Matip’s withdrawal, and free-kick forced penalty equaliser.

Curtis Jones 8

Tough first half but was undeterred and created header for Mane. Strong run won free-kick from which the penalty was awarded, and another almost brought a winner. Booked.

Mohamed Salah 6

Worked harder in a defensive role early on and will argue he was pushed in build-up to Fulham's opener. Shot wide on turn shortly before half-time and tucked away penalty for equaliser. Subbed.

Roberto Firmino 5

Hardly touched the ball before the break but got the message second half and created one good chance for Henderson.

Sadio Mane 6

Became frustrated first half and over with one header, but grew into a real threat the longer the game progressed.

Takumi Minamino (for Matip 46) 7

Tidy enough when brought on in midfield and added energy and much-needed creativity.

Neco Williams (for Alexander-Arnold 68) 6

Pace made a difference in both defence and attack.

Divock Origi (for Salah 84)

Minutes.
