Alisson Becker 9

Fine saves from Messi and Coutinho first half as Barcelona pressed for the early away goal. Alert again to deny Suarez and Messi again after the break.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 10

Got the better of Coutinho down the Barcelona right and his persistence and delivery created the second for Wijnaldum, and his quick-thinking provided the fourth for Origi. Insanely good. He's 20. 20!

Joel Matip 9

Brilliant. Had absolute none of it from Suarez and continued his fine form with a superb display. What a hero.

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler hits out at Luis Suarez and explains his 'big problem' with Barcelona star

Virgil van Dijk 9

Made some key clearing headers and interceptions and, like Matip, wasn't riled by Suarez.

Andy Robertson 8

A bundle of energy down the left and getting forward. Seemed to overcome a nasty kick from Suarez but ultimately had to concede defeat.

Fabinho 9

Dumped Messi in the opening seconds and wrongly booked for a great tackle on Suarez. Stayed calm in the face of constant provocation. Showed all his experience towards the end.

What Liverpool fans were chanting at Barcelona's Luis Suarez during Champions League semi final

Jordan Henderson 9

Did brilliantly to force the save for the opener and was a driving force. Incredible powers of recovery after what appeared a nasty knee injury. Fantastic display from the skipper.

James Milner 8

Looked to get on the ball whenever possible and kept Liverpool moving going forward first half. Went to left-back second half and just kept on running and working.

Xherdan Shaqiri 8

Played a part in Liverpool's quickfire opener having almost scored himself moments earlier. Lost his way completely before the break but came back strong afterwards, creating the third.

Divock Origi 9

In the right place once again to capitalise on Ter Stegen's poor save for the first, led the line well and showed good footwork. So alert to net the deciding, legendary goal. Subbed.

Sadio Mane 9

Sharp when in possession and got in the box whenever possible. Should have had a penalty first half and tormented the Barcelona defence until the last minute, not giving them a moment's peace.

Gini Wijnaldum 10

No doubt surprised to not start, responded with two goals in as many minutes and turned into Zinedine Zidane for 45 minutes. Amazing.

Joe Gomez (for Origi 85)

Did his bit.

Daniel Sturridge (for Shaqiri 90)

He also took part.
