Liverpool owner John W Henry reacts to Champions League comeback against Barcelona

On an astonishing night at Anfield, Liverpool produced another of the Champions League's greatest-ever comebacks.

Trailing 3-0 from their semi-final first leg at Camp Nou, Jurgen Klopp's men swept aside the Spanish champions with a Merseyside thumping.

Two goals apiece for unheralded striker Divock Origi - deputising in attack with both Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah absent - and Gini Wijnaldum, booked the Reds a second successive European Cup final.

And the result, which will see the face either Ajax or Tottenham in Madrid next month, left American owner John W Henry blown away.

The Reds chief wasn't in attendance, but was nonetheless in awe of what he had seen from his side.

Initially, Henry - who was recently at the 5-0 win over Huddersfield - took to social media to declare "One incredible night" alongside a photo of players and staff celebrating their triumph in front of the Kop.

Soon he followed that up with a video of the scenes after the final whistle - of players and staff rejoicing - and declared: "Nothing like this anywhere in the world".

Speaking after the game, Klopp explained how he was left "overwhelmed" by seeing his players in tears after their achievement.

"I said to the boys before 'I don't think it's possible but because it's you I think we have a chance' - they are really mentality giants. It's unbelievable," Klopp added.

"After the season we played, the games we had, the injuries we had now in this moment, if you go out there and ask who bet a penny on us, I don't think you would find a lot of people.

"We know this club is the mix of atmosphere, emotion, desire and football quality. Cut off one and it doesn't work."
