The past week has seen two major events from Manchester Council cancelled, with Bonfire Night displays called off last week before the Christmas Lights switch-on was also given the boot on Monday.
The Bonfire Night displays were called off due to "escalating costs", while the amount of construction work taking place in the city was the reason given for switching the Christmas Lights switch-on off.
The decisions have caused a strong reaction already, so we want to know what you think about the council cancelling two major public events.

One reader reacted strongly following the lights cancellation, going as far as to say: "Liverpool overtaking us! Hate to say, far more vibe there, more attractions, more visitors, Manchester is dying on the vine."
However, some weren't so unhappy to see the event done away with, with another person responding: "Do away with it all for me. Waste of tax payers money at the moment when you have people going hungry and can’t afford fuel prices."
Others reacted similarly to the Bonfire Night news, with one reader saying: "Thank goodness it's a complete waste of money I'm so pleased with this decision"
But opinion was split on that decision as well, with another reader commenting: "Absolutely shocking decision, the kids miss out yet again."
