Liverpool open to offers for European Golden Boy-nominated former Bristol City starlet with Swansea City linked

Herbie Kane could well move to a Championship club in January.

Football Insider report that Liverpool are open to offers for the former Bristol City starlet, despite pulling the plug on a move in the summer.

The highly-rated midfielder moved to Anfield from the Robins in 2013 and was impressively nominated for the European Golden Boy award last year before even playing a senior match.

He spent last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers and impressed enough for Championship clubs to be interested in him in the summer.

Former Donny boss Grant McCann wanted to take him to Hull City, whilst there was also interest from other clubs.

Yet he stayed at Anfield and made his Reds debut in a League Cup victory over MK Dons.

However, he has yet to make a league appearance and there are now said to be question marks at Anfield over whether he can progress from the under-23s into the Reds' first team.

It means the Reds are said to be willing to listen to offers for Kane, and there is interest from a number of the Robins' Championship rivals.

Hull are still interested in the 20-year-old along with Swansea City, whilst Steven Gerrard's Rangers side are also keeping tabs on Kane.

Gerrard will know Kane well from his time coaching in Liverpool's youth academy and has retained close links with his former club, signing another former Bristol City player, Ryan Kent, in the summer.
