Liverpool ONE store Hamleys toy shop closes after less than a year

A popular Liverpool ONE store has closed its doors after less than a year as it prepares to relocate.

World-famous toy store Hamleys opened on Paradise Street in September 2020 and has proven hugely popular with families since.

The store in Liverpool ONE has now closed its doors, leaving no trace behind - but it's not all bad news.

Hamleys won't stay gone for long, it turns out, as Liverpool ONE has confirmed the store is simply moving to a different unit within the complex.

According to the official Liverpool ONE website, Hamleys will be opening a new store on South John Street "very soon".

An opening date for the new store has not been confirmed.

In the windows of the former Hamley’s unit on Paradise Street, between Vans and Levi's, signs are now up announcing that much loved Dr Martens will be taking over the space.

Alongside the Dr Martens logo, it says: "Coming soon."

The ECHO has approached Liverpool ONE for a comment.
