Liverpool ONE welcomes a new family attraction today and it is completely free to use.
A giant slide has officially been installed in the middle of the shopping centre, giving families an alternative to stairs and escalators.
The slide starts outside the All Saints store on Upper South John Street and finishes on an AstroTurf landing next to the LEGO store below.
The slide, which is five metres high and 10.1 metres long, is part of Liverpool ONE ’s Summer of Champions, which includes a range of free events centred around sports.
Donna Howitt, marketing director at Liverpool ONE, said: “With the school summer holidays well underway, we expect to be welcoming lots of families to Liverpool ONE, whether it’s for last-minute holiday essentials or simply a trip out to Chavasse Park or to visit the cinema.
“We are really excited to give them a little something extra to add to the fun of summer with our giant slide. It’s the first time we’ve installed something like this so we’re expecting it to be very popular with both youngsters and their parents.”
The slide is completely free to use and will be in place until September 8.

Restrictions of the slide are: minimum height - 3ft 8in; max height - 6ft 7in; max weight - 115kg.
