Liverpool odds to win Premier League title slashed after Man City lose to Wolves

Liverpool are now the favourites to win the Premier League title for the first time this season, according to the bookmakers.

The Reds moved eight points clear at the top of the table after beating Leicester City 2-1 in dramatic circumstances.

James Milner's stoppage-time penalty secured a 17th-straight Premier League win for Jurgen Klopp's side, ahead of Manchester City's clash against Wolves on Sunday.

Whilst many Liverpool supporters could have only dreamed of a five-point cushion heading into the second international break of the season, their prayers were answered as Wolves did the business at the Etihad Stadium.

A brace from Adama Traore condemned City to a second defeat of the season after only eight games.

And it ensured the Reds hold an eight-point lead at the Premier League's summit for at least the next fortnight.

With a 100% record in the league to date, Liverpool's odds to win their first title in 30 years have slowly shortened over the last few weeks.

However, Sunday's events saw a dramatic change in the market, with leading bookmakers The Pools slashing Liverpool's odds to make them the new favourites to win the Premier League title.

They are are now offering odds as short as 4/6 for Klopp to lead his side to the title in 30 games' time.

Whilst Pep Guardiola's men have drifted to 5/4.

It's the first time Liverpool have been favourites all season, despite leading the way since August.

After the international break, the Reds head to Old Trafford to face their arch-rivals Manchester United, with all eyes fixing to a potential title-deciding clash between the pair on November 10.
