Liverpool now has its first 24-hour Post Office

Liverpool's first 24-hour post office is now open and will soon allow customers to send letters and parcels at any time of the day or night.

Staff at the branch on Sefton Street, Liverpool 8, are currently being trained but the branch will shortly operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Replacing the soon to be closed Park Road Crown Post Office as the only post office in the postcode, it is located inside the Spar at Sefton Street Garage.

Sefton Street has become a busy thoroughfare in recent years due to and the development of thousands of new flats in the area and because of its proximity to the Baltic Triangle, a rapidly developing area at the border of L8, L1 and L3.

David Hunt, Post Office change manager, said: “We know how important our services are to customers, and are confident that this brand new Post Office alongside our other branches, will ensure that people in the community have easy access to our services.”

The Park Road Crown Post Office is due to close this weekend despite a community-led campaign to keep it open.
