Liverpool No.1 Alisson Becker on the moment he truly cherishes in debut season for Reds

Alisson Becker admits he cherishes the stunning last-gasp save he made against Napoli which put Liverpool on the road to the Champions League final.

The Reds would have crashed out at the group stage back in December but for the brilliance of the Brazil No.1.

Napoli's Arkadiusz Milik had a golden opportunity to equalise for the Serie A outfit late on at Anfield but Alisson thwarted the Poland striker and Jurgen Klopp's side advanced to the last 16.

“I think that anything can change a series of events, in one second or one minute,” Alisson told UEFA.com

“But without a doubt, the save against Napoli was pretty much the last touch of the ball and that save could be counted as a goal I'd say.

“Of course my team-mates played their part as well and that’s what makes it so special, to be part of that group and to be able to help them. They are such incredible players.”

Liverpool took full advantage of Alisson's heroics by getting past Bayern Munich, Porto and Barcelona en route to booking a showdown with Tottenham in Madrid on June 1.

The £65million keeper was equally commanding in the momentous semi-final second leg fightback against Barca as the Reds overturned a 3-0 first-leg deficit on a remarkable night at Anfield.

“That memory will be with me forever, it’s a story that I’ll be telling my children and my grandchildren,” he said.

“I’m just hoping that we can see this story through, God willing, to get the title, which is our main objective.”

Alisson knew all about the "power" of Anfield before he signed for Liverpool having suffered with Roma in the semi-finals last season.

“Incredible, incredible,” he added.

“I played here against Liverpool and I experienced the power that the fans gave to the team on the pitch. They put a lot of pressure on you, it’s not easy playing here against our team.

“Now that I’m playing here I’ve experienced the amazing things that we have achieved in this Champions League, qualifying for the final in the way that we did, returning from a difficult defeat that many thought was impossible.

“It was achievable through God's blessing, the work that we put in and a lot of dedication, plus the support from the fans on the night which was incredible.”
