Liverpool will have the chance to move to within a point of Manchester City in the table when they take on Arsenal on Wednesday night.
That is because City were held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night reducing their lead at the top of the Premier League table to just four points.
Liverpool - who have a game in hand on Pep Guardiola’s side - initially closed the gap on City on Saturday afternoon to three points.
Jurgen Klopp’s side claimed a 2-0 win over Brighton at the Amex Stadium thanks to goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah to maintain their title bid.
While Chelsea, who currently sit third in the table, overcame Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon thanks to Kai Havertz's late strike - but are now seven points behind Liverpool.

Liverpool's next six Premier League fixtures
Arsenal (A) - March 16
Liverpool’s next Premier League game sees them play their game in hand on Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Reds have already enjoyed victory at the Emirates Stadium this season in the Carabao Cup, but face an Arsenal side that beat Leicester City at the weekend.
Watford (H) - April 2
Only paper this a game that Liverpool should win easily, but as we all know football doesn't work like that.
Watford are fighting for their lives and as we all know, playing sides at the bottom can be as tough as playing sides at the top.
Plus, we all know Roy Hodgson will be desperate to get one over on his old side.
Manchester City (A) - April 10
The big one. A game that might decide the destination of this season’s title.
There is so much football to be played between now and here that it is anybody's guess what the table will look like come April 10.
But one thing is for sure all eyes will be on Etihad in a couple of weeks.
Aston Villa (A) - April 16
A reunion with former Reds captain Steven Gerrard is on the cards in April, while since the two sides last met Philippe Coutinho has also arrived at Villa Park.
The last match between the pair ended in a 1-0 win for the Reds in December, thanks to a late Salah penalty.
The Reds will have bad memories of their last league clash at Villa Park, with that being the infamous 7-2 defeat last season.
Everton (H) - April 23
A huge game at both ends of the table with Liverpool fighting for the title and Everton fighting to avoid the drop.
The Blues famously won at Anfield last season for the first time since 1999, and could well need a repeat to prevent relegation to the Championship.
However, prior to Everton’s win at Anfield last season, Liverpool had been pretty flawless when taking on their local rivals at home in previous seasons.
Newcastle (A) - April 30
Liverpool end April with a trip to the North East to take on Newcastle United.
Newcastle’s relegation fears have eased in recent weeks with Eddie Howe’s side picking up 16 points from their last seven games.
