Liverpool news: Sadio Mane insists he has 'no problem' with Mohamed Salah after confrontation at Burnley

Sadio Mane has admitted that he and Mohamed Salah did confront each other in the dressing-room following the pair’s on-pitch bust-up at Burnley earlier this season.

Mane was visibly infuriated after the Egyptian failed to square the ball to him in front of goal as Liverpool led 3-0 at Turf Moor.

Jurgen Klopp substituted Mane moments later with the Senegalese winger still frothing over the perceived selfishness of his teammate.

Speaking to Canal Plus while on international duty, Mane said: “He said to me ‘Sadio, why are you angry?’ I told him, ‘You needed to give me the ball, Mo’, to which he replied, ‘I didn’t see you. You know I’ve got nothing against you’.

“I know that, but his reaction was a bit strange to me. We talk on the phone sometimes, we text each other and we don’t have a problem.

“We talked between ourselves, and then the manager called me into his office and we spoke. I told him it was already sorted and he was pleasantly surprised.”

Both players have subsequently been forced to deny that the spat is still an ongoing issue, with neither player having provided an assist for one another during Liverpool’s spotless start to the season.
