Liverpool will successfully avoid Diogo Jota following in the footsteps of Sadio Mane after they saw the Portugal star sign a new long-term contract.

Mane left Anfield for Bayern Munich earlier this summer having entered the final year of his deal on Merseyside. With Mohamed Salah signing his own long-term deal, Jota was the most likely to follow Mane in future years.

But Liverpool have now put those concerns to bed by handing Jota a significant pay rise to keep him at the club. Jota follows Salah in signing a lucrative deal to extend his stay with Klopp's men.

Rice hailed Reds star

West Ham star Declan Rice has named Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara as the toughest opponent he has faced.

The Spanish international is again likely to play an important role as Liverpool bid to regain the Premier League title. And he has received high praise from Rice as the new campaign fast approaches.

Morton lifts lid on loan exit

Tyler Morton has revealed he was encouraged to join Blackburn Rovers on loan by Liverpool team-mate Harvey Elliott.

Elliott spent a season at Ewood Park during the 2020/2021 campaign, becoming a fan favourite at the former Premier League champions. He returned to Anfield to become part of Klopp's first-team set-up last year.

Morton has now followed in the footsteps of the midfielder as he bids to gain more experience at senior level. And the Reds starlet has now revealed that Elliott played a crucial role in convincing him Rovers would be the perfect place to do just that.
