Liverpool news: Burglars steal watches, mobiles and car keys from Sadio Mane's home during Bayern Munich tie

Sadio Mane‘s house was burgled while the Liverpool forward was playing in the club’s Champions League tie first-leg against Bayern Munich.

Mane, who lives in Allerton in south Liverpool, had items including watches, mobiles and car keys stolen.

Police have opened an investigation and are currently carrying out forensic examinations.

Detective Inspector Phil Mahon said: ”We are appealing for anyone with information in relation to this burglary to please come forward and assist our inquiries.

“While the occupants were not present at the time of the incident this will no doubt be a distressing experience for them and I would ask the offenders to do the right thing and return the stolen items to the owner in any way possible.

“We know the watches in particular are of significant monetary value and I would also like to appeal to anyone who might have been offered the items for sale since the burglary to contact police.”

It’s not the first time Mane’s house has been targeted while Jurgen Klopp’s side have been playing at Anfield.

In November 2017, a gang was believed to have broken into his home and then attempted to smash the back door of teammate Dejan Lovren’s house, before fleeing when a woman shouted that they were calling the police.
