Liverpool have confirmed that Caoimhin Kelleher will play in goal against Arsenal in the fourth-round of the Carabao Cup.
The 20-year-old made his debut for the Reds just last month, playing in their third-round victory over MK Dons.
Kelleher kept a clean sheet that night and has been capped ten times by the Republic of Ireland Under-21s.
"This League Cup, it is Caoimhin’s competition," Jurgen Klopp's assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders told Liverpool's official website.
"As I said before the MK Dons game, with youth development, with these moments when they are in between the U23s and the first team, consistency is very important.
"He had a good game and he is preparing for another one. It will be special for him playing at Anfield."
Liverpool's side against MK Dons also featured exiting youngsters in Rhian Brewster, Harvey Elliot and Curtis Jones.
Although Arsenal are a much stronger side, with the Premier League firmly on Jurgen Klopp's mind, there may be cause for similar rotation across the pitch against Arsenal.
After all, the competition and player hierarchy at Liverpool has been made very clear at the Merseyside club.
"For us, Ali is our No.1 – more than a No.1 I would say!," Lijnders added.
"We have Adrian, who did an unbelievable job and if something happens with Ali, Adrian is our No.2 and then has to do the job."
