Liverpool name Harvey Elliott in 23-man squad to face Napoli - but trio left out after US Tour

Liverpool have named a 23-man squad to face Napoli at Murrayfield on Sunday, but there's no room for a handful of youngsters who went on the Reds' US Tour.

Fresh from his transfer from Fulham being confirmed , 16-year-old Harvey Elliott is included and could make his first appearance for the club against the Serie A side, while Sepp Van den Berg is also part of the travelling squad after making his debut against Sporting Lisbon in midweek.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is named after a minor calf issue, and there's also room for Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent despite continued speculation regarding the duo's futures.

Jurgen Klopp remains without Alisson, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane following their international exploits earlier this summer, while Nathaniel Clyne and Yasser Larouci miss out through injury.

Meanwhile, Andy Lonergan remains with the squad as goalkeeping cover to Simon Mignolet with youngsters Daniel Atherton and Jakub Ojrzynski left out after travelling with the Reds to the States.

And Adam Lewis, Ki-Jana Hoever and Bobby Duncan also travel but there's no room for Curtis Jones, Nat Phillips and Ben Woodburn.

Liverpool squad in full: Fabinho, Van Dijk, Wijnaldum, Lovren, Milner, Gomez, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Mignolet, Brewster, Robertson, Origi, Matip, Kent, Lewis, Hoever, Duncan, Wilson, Alexander-Arnold, Elliott, Van den Berg, Lonergan.
