Liverpool name Champions League squad for Red Bull Salzburg clash with three senior absentees

Liverpool have named a 19-man squad to face Red Bull Salzburg in their crucial Champions League decider on Tuesday, with Adam Lallana the only major absentee.

Lallana, who missed the victory over Bournemouth on Saturday with a slight injury, has not travelled with the rest of his teammates while he continues to recover from a minor issue.

Gini Wijnaldum and Dejan Lovren, though, are both fit and have rejoined their teammates, with Curtis Jones, who came on as a substitute at the Vitality Stadium among the party too.

Lovren was among those who trained on Merseyside prior to the squad departing for Austria and appears not to have sustained too serious a problem.

Jurgen Klopp's men need to pick up at least a point to guarantee progression to the last-16 of the competition, having failed to confirm their status in the knockout stages in their previous game against Napoli at Anfield.

Their last match against Salzburg finished 4-3, with the Austrian side coming from three goals down to draw level at 3-3, only for Mohamed Salah to net the winning goal in front of the Kop.

The travelling squad in full: Alisson, Van Dijk, Wijnaldum, Lovren, Milner, Keita, Firmino, Mane, Salah, Gomez, Adrian, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Shaqiri, Robertson, Origi, Jones, Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold
