Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has named teenage forward Rhian Brewster in his 20-man squad for Reds' Champions League trip to Napoli following the ankle injury suffered by Divock Origi.
The Reds kick off the defence of their European crown with a trip to Naples to tackle Carlo Ancelotti's Serie A giants, who they also faced in last season's competition.
Klopp's side lost 1-0 in the Stadio San Paolo, but won by the same scoreline at Anfield in their final match of the group stages to progress to the last-16, before going on to win the competition.
Origi was forced off in the first half of the 3-1 weekend win over Newcastle , having come in for the rested Roberto Firmino.
“Unfortunately, Div twisted his ankle early in the game and had to then come off,” Klopp said after the match.
“We all hope it is not that serious. That he could play on could be a sign it is not that serious, hopefully it is like this.”
As a response to the injury, Brewster was replaced after just 15 minutes of Liverpool under-23s' game against Derby County which was taking place at the same time.
“No, they all got [minor] knocks; Robbo got a knock, Sadio got a knock, but all are fine.”
