Liverpool must avoid a repeat of last season’s performance against Leeds after Tottenham beat Manchester City to blow the title race wide open.
Victory would leave the Reds just three points behind Pep Guardiola’s side with a visit to the Etihad still to come.
As it stands, City have scored one less goal but also conceded three less leaving them with a two-goal advantage over Jurgen Klopp’s team.

What happened last season?
On the opening day of the 2020/21 season, Leeds marked their return to the top flight by scoring three goals at Anfield.
However, Mohamed Salah matched their tally and Virgil Van Dijk got on the scoresheet to secure a 4-3 victory.
Despite scoring three goals, Leeds only created 0.27xG, meaning that the chances were of low value.
A combination of errors at the back from the Reds and fine finishing from the visitors saw them convert several times.
Liverpool cannot afford a slip-up like that against the Elland Road outfit again.
Klopp's men have conceded 0.87 xGA in their last five games compared to 1.03 in the five before that suggesting that the defence has tightened up.
Leaky Leeds
Only Norwich have conceded more goals than Leeds (50) in the Premier League so far.
They have struggled without the likes of Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips for much of the season.
Only Raphinha has more than five goals in the league for Marcelo Bielsa’s side (9).
They have conceded three or more goals in their last three games, a 3-3 draw with Aston Villa, a 3-0 loss to Everton and Sunday’s 4-2 loss to Manchester United.
Salah, Sadio Mané, and Luis Diaz will be hoping to add to that misery on Wednesday night.
Goal difference could be crucial if the title race tightens up further - and Liverpool's forward line know it.
