Liverpool museum death: Man, 38, dies after 'fall from second floor' of atrium

A 38-year-old man has died at the Museum of Liverpool after reportedly falling from the second floor of the building's atrium.

The museum has been closed for the day and some visitors said they were evacuated after the man fell.

Police and paramedics were called to the museum just after 11am on Sunday. Around 12 police cars responded.

A statement from Merseyside Police said: "Police officers who were first at the scene attempted CPR until the arrival of the paramedics who attended to the man, but he was pronounced dead a short while later.

"Next of kin have been informed, but formal identification has not taken place. A post-mortem will be conducted to establish the cause of death."

The death is being treated as unexplained but it is not believed to be suspicious.
