Liverpool morning headlines as three new signings officially unveiled

Here are the Liverpool morning headlines for Tuesday, September 1.

Reds unveil three new signings

Liverpool have officially unveiled new signings Fabian Mrozek, Mateusz Musialowski and Melkamu Frauendorf.

Jurgen Klopp has only made one addition to his senior squad so far this summer, acquiring Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos.

But the academy has been active in recent weeks, and the teenage trio were recently added to the club’s website.

Mrozek is a goalkeeper who was signed from Polish outfit FC Wroclaw towards the end of last season.

Musialowski and Frauendorf are both attacking midfielders and joined the club from SMS Lodz and Hoffenheim respectively.

Van Dijk gives Van de Beek verdict

Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Donny van de Beek from Ajax.

The midfielder looks set to join Liverpool’s rivals in a deal worth around £40million.

And Virgil van Dijk, who plays alongside Van de Beek for the Netherlands national team, has given his verdict on his compatriot’s move.

"Did I try to change his mind [about joining United]? No," he said.

"If it happens – and it looks like it – then I give him that [his best wishes] wholeheartedly.

"Great for him, great for Dutch football, for the Dutch national team and another great club for an Oranje player.

"The same goes for Nathan Aké who has gone to Manchester City."

Hertha speak out over Grujic future

Hertha Berlin have suggested they are interested in signing Marko Grujic this summer.

The Serbia international has spent the last two seasons on loan at Hertha, but Liverpool are now looking to sell him permanently.

And Hertha chief Michael Preetz says he is keeping a close eye on the situation.

"[Grujic] is a Liverpool player who spent two years on loan with us,” Preetz told Kicker. “He has been in training with Liverpool for a few days [during pre-season].

"Unlike last year, it was Liverpool's declared wish that Marko should take part in much of the preparation there.

"Then there will certainly be a decision in England about Marko's immediate future: Will he be loaned out again? Is he for sale? Will he be part of the Liverpool team?

"That cannot be foreseen at the moment."
