Mane message for Reds fans
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has sent a message to the club’s fans after he tested positive for Covid-19.
The Senegalese star is out of this weekend’s clash against Aston Villa and is now in a period of self-isolation having tested positive for the virus.
Mane posted, as highlighted by the Echo : “Hello I´ve been tested positive but I am feeling good and not showing heavy symptoms. I will begin my quarantine and recovery process immediately.
"Make sure that you stay safe and follow all rules to protect yourself and your loved ones to avoid a second wave of the COVID-19 Virus spreading all over the world.
"I will be back stronger than before! We will get through this together."
Wilder on Brewster signing
Sheffield United have completed the permanent signing of striker Rhian Brewster from Liverpool in a club record fee of £23.5m.
The Blades boss Chris Wilder has now spoken on the signing and what the former promising Reds star will add to their attack.
"At the top of the pitch we have one of the country's hottest properties from Liverpool and for him to sign permanent here is fantastic for everyone concerned," Wilder told the club's website , as per the Echo .
"There has been a lot of interest in him over the summer, a lot of speculation about who we were going for, but he has been our number one target and I am delighted to have secured his services.
"If you look at the signings we have made throughout the summer, it bodes well for the future of the football club. He's a talent, as are a lot of the younger players we have brought in, whether that's Oli Burke, Max Lowe, Jayden Bogle or Aaron Ramsdale, they are the profiles of the players we wanted to bring in during the summer, and we're delighted we have done it.
"He's a natural goalscorer. He finishes from any aspect, whether it is in the air or whether it's spectacular goals, free-kicks or off his shin - he has a lovely habit of scoring goals, which is crucial in the Premier League."
Reds beat ‘many clubs’ to sign 'special' attacker
Liverpool signed Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim five years ago and this summer they returned to the German club to make another addition.
The Reds confirmed the signing of Germany U16 international Melkamu Frauendorf a month ago and his Hoffenheim coach Danny Galm has raved about his potential.
Galm told Blood Red , as per the Echo , that 'many clubs' around Europe had been watching the ‘special’ player closely.
