Here are the Liverpool morning headlines for Saturday, August 29.
Klopp makes Premier League prediction
Jurgen Klopp doesn’t expect life to be easy for Liverpool in the Premier League this season - after all, it was difficult last year, even as the Reds raced to the title.
The Reds boss says his team being a relentless force might have made it look easy at times, but it wasn’t the case out on the pitch.
"Probably every year it is harder. Was it easy last year? For sure not," Klopp said.
"It looked in moments but that was only because we were a result-machine. That is the only reason. It was hard in every game. We had to fight so hard in all the games.”
Klopp also discussed the transfer situation at the top end of the league, saying that no matter how many players they all buy, each team can still only put 11 out against the Reds.
Motivation “will not be our problem” added Klopp, as he promised his team will keep trying everything to win more titles.
Salah explains Premier League title ‘panic’
The coronavirus lockdown brought a whole host of unknowns and previously unexperienced situations for everyone, which for Mohamed Salah meant contrasting thoughts.
Speaking on a new BBC documentary, Salah explains that while the lockdown brought rumours of a season cancellation, he was at home with his family - something he doesn’t usually get to do mid-campaign.
“People were saying cancel the league, some people were saying that you cannot play any more.
"It was stress and maybe everyone [inside the club] started to panic, but I was at home during that time with the family and I never had that time before, so I was using it to enjoy it.”
Salah also said being with his team-mates at the moment the title was confirmed, as Chelsea beat Manchester City with the squad watching on, was “something special” - in contrast to “one of my worst times in football” which was the 2018 Champions League final.
Midfielder completes permanent move away from Anfield
Ovie Ejaria has left Liverpool permanently, signing for Championship side Reading.
The midfielder was on loan with the Royals last season, with an agreement to make the deal a full-time one this summer. That was delayed briefly, with Ejaria missing his new club’s pre-season friendly against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday, but he has been training with them and now makes his switch official.
Ejaria played eight times for the Reds.
