Liverpool midfielder set for summer move to Lazio

Liverpool are set to lose youngster Bobby Adekanye to Lazio in the summer.

The 20-year-old winger is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season but has decided his long-term future lies away from the club.

The Nigerian-born Dutchman will reportedly reject a new contract, according to Goal , in order to pursue more first team opportunities in Serie A with Lazio.

The youngster joined from the Barcelona academy with high hopes in 2015 after a successful loan spell at PSV the previous year.

He has featured regularly and impressed for Liverpool's Under 23s and Under 19s in the UEFA Youth League but has failed to earn a first team breakthrough under Klopp.

The pacey wide man is now set to turn his back on the Reds in favour of Lazio, where he is on the verge of penning a four-year deal.

Adekanye, who moved to the Netherlands from Nigeria at the age of four, joined the Ajax academy as a youngster before being poached by Barcelona.

He's made useful progress at Anfield but with Klopp's array of attacking options he's not been able to land a first team blow allowing Lazio to swoop.

They were heavily linked to a move for the youngster in January, with reports initially suggesting a move had been agreed.

But Lazio denied those rumours and he stayed at Liverpool , yet it looks like the move will now happen.
