Liverpool midfielder Jake Cain is set to join Newport County on a season-long loan deal.
The highly-rated 19-year-old made his Liverpool debut in the FA Cup fourth round replay victory over Shrewsbury Town last year and has regularly trained with the first-team under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool are keen for the midfielder to develop the physical side of his game in League Two and he is set to make his debut in the Papa John's Trophy tie against League One outfit Plymouth Argyle this evening.

Newport County manager Michael Flynn plays a possession-based brand of football and has a relationship with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, while also being influenced by Liverpool boss Klopp.
Flynn told Sky Sports in November: "Pep Guardiola is a fantastic man.
"It doesn't matter whether you're the manager of Newport County or Liverpool, he treats everybody with the same amount of respect."
He added: "We really bonded from our meeting when [Newport] played [Manchester City] in the FA Cup, we still keep in contact and I've got the utmost respect for him because he's a football genius.
"Everybody is looking at how he and Jurgen Klopp play. They have taken football to a new level with their attacking play and emphasis on possession-based creativity.
"They are the marker of where you want to get to. I'm early in my career, but there's no reason I can't aim to be as good as I can be. That's what I'll always do."
