Liverpool midfielder reacts after surgery as January transfer hampered by injury

Isaac Christie-Davies confirmed he underwent a successful surgery following an injury suffered during a loan spell at Cercle Brugge.

The Liverpool midfielder only joined the Belgian club earlier this month in the pursuit of first-team football but never made a first-team appearance.

The 22-year-old joined Cercle on a half-season deal but unfortunately suffered the injury, believed to be to his knee, in the first few days of his loan which cut short the spell.

He posted a message on Instagram saying he was "sad" but thankful the operation was a success.

Christie-Davies wrote: "Sad to have had to have surgery this morning after picking up an injury in my first few days on loan, but I’m thankful to God that the surgery was a success and i’ll be doing all I can to come back even stronger.

"In the meantime good luck to my teammates and @cercleofficial for the upcoming games, I’ll be back soon."

The Welshman made his first-team debut for the Reds against Aston Villa in the League Cup earlier this season.

He arrived in the summer of 2018 from Chelsea.
