Liverpool McDonald's branch shuts as fast food giant gives reopening date

A Liverpool branch of McDonald's has closed temporarily, with the fast food giant telling the ECHO it is carrying out kitchen renovations.

The entrance to the 24-hour Aigburth Road branch was closed off today while a large sign outside directed customers to other city restaurants in the global chain.

Inside, boxes and shelving units can be seen stacked up near to the seating area of the restaurant.

McDonald's have now confirmed the closure of the branch is due to maintenance work which is being carried out in the kitchen area.

A spokesperson for the company told the ECHO the popular fast food restaurant will be back open for delivery and takeaway services next week.

Due to coronavirus restrictions and the ongoing lockdown, the inside of the restaurant will continue to remain closed to customers.
