Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp clarifies comment about Manchester United great Gary Neville

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has expanded on his comments about Gary Neville after joking the Manchester United legend had "an opinion on everything".

During an interview last week, Klopp joked about Neville "having an opinion on everything", much to the amusement of the Sky Sports pundit.

Liverpool and the rest of the Premier League agreed a return to training this week as they step up preparations for Project Restart.

With that in mind, Klopp added to his comments on Neville, jesting he's looking forward to football's return giving the media and Neville something else to focus on.

Reminded of his comments by Sky Sports on Thursday, Klopp said: "I usually don't watch that kind of stuff. Now, in lockdown, I obviously had too much time and I watched a lot and read newspapers.

"I don't think it's his (Gary Neville's) fault. If you get asked a lot of questions, you have to give a lot of answers. But I realised it in this time more than ever before!

"Hopefully we can fill the newspapers again in the future with some different stuff, and then he can have a bit more time off! I would wish it for him at least."
