Liverpool, Man United and Spurs target Ryan Sessegnon sends emotional message to Fulham fans

Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon has promised fans that he will do his best to try and end the season on a positive note despite the club's relegation from the Premier League.

Watford landed the final blow to the Whites on Tuesday evening as Javi Gracia's side won 4-1 at Vicarage Road to send the west London club back down to the Championship.

Following a successful campaign that saw them win promotion through the play offs last season, hopes were high that Slavisa Jokanovic would be able to make an impact in the top tier, especially after the signings of former Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle and Jean Michael Seri, a midfielder previously linked with Arsenal and Barcelona.

Sessegnon was also tipped for a breakthrough year in the Premier League, although after the dismissal of Jokanovic in November, to be replaced by ex-Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri, the teenager struggled for game time.

In February, Scott Parker replaced Ranieri in the dug out, but the former club captain was unable to guide Fulham through their own great escape to climb out of the relegation zone at the 11th hour.

Speaking after the loss to Watford that confirmed the Whites would be going back down to the second division of the English game, Sessegnon made clear his own feelings on the failure to stay up.

"Last year we achieved something that I had been dreaming of as a Fulham player," he posted to his official Twitter account. "There was no better feeling for me than getting the club I've been at I was a kid back to the Prem.

Shahid Khan has a message for the Fulham fans after relegation was confirmed by Watford defeat

"We knew this season would be a massive test but are gutted that it has ended like this. We knew all season we weren't good enough and ultimately paid the price for it.

"We can't thank the fans enough for the support week in, week out. It has meant everything you have kept us going thorough some very tough times.

"All we can do now is try and finish the season on a high."

Fulham's last five league games of the campaign will come against Everton at home on Saturday followed by an away trip to Bournemouth, Cardiff City at home, Wolverhampton Wanderers away and the visit of Newcastle United on the final weekend of the season.

If results elsewhere go their way, they could still finish above Cardiff, who are currently 11 points ahead. However, that would require Neil Warnock's side to lose six of their final seven games, with the Whites scoring five wins out of five to go above the Bluebirds on goal difference.

Sessegnon meanwhile is understood to be on the radars of a number of top level clubs, namely Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 18-year-old is still to agree a new deal to stay at Fulham beyond the next season and could leave the club on a free in the summer of 2020 if he is not sold beforehand and fails to extend his contract at Craven Cottage.
