Liverpool, Man City or Tottenham: Who has the hardest Premier League title run-in?

The race is heating up. (Picture: Getty Images)

A second draw in the space of six days for Liverpool has blown the race for the Premier League title race wide open again.

Manchester City can move back to the summit of the English top flight if they beat Everton on Wednesday night – having faced the prospect of falling seven points behind Jurgen Klopp’s side last week.

Just over their shoulder are Tottenham. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have seen their title credentials dismissed on more than one occasion this term.

And yet they sit just two points behind City and five adrift of Liverpool, with their move to their new stadium set to coincide with their season run in.

On this week’s evidence, there are plenty more twists and turns left in this title race. Standard Sport looks ahead to the fixtures that could define the season.

Liverpool fixtures

If Liverpool are still top of the league by mid-April, they will be confident of ending their 29-year wait for a championship.

The Reds end the season with games against Cardiff (away), Huddersfield (home), Newcastle (away) and Wolves (home) – a far more comfortable run-in than those around them.

Before that, Liverpool host both Tottenham and Chelsea in the space of two weeks – two games crucial to maintaining the gap at the top should it still be intact by that point.

Another huge test for Jurgen Klopp’s side is just around the corner with trip to Old Trafford on the horizon.

Manchester United are unbeaten under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with the Norwegian securing victories over Tottenham and Arsenal since replacing Jose Mourinho. No one will be more determined to dent their title bid than Liverpool’s arch-rivals and their club legend in the dugout.

Man City fixtures

City face the immediate test of Chelsea this weekend.

Maurizio Sarri and his side came through a testing week with a comprehensive victory over Huddersfield on Saturday with the Blues coach demonstrating his ability to outwit his City counterpart in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge last December.

In their final eight fixtures of the league season, Pep Guardiola and his side take on six teams in the bottom half of the league.

But like Liverpool, they are still to head to Old Trafford, with United expected to be in a battle for a top four finish when that fixture rolls around.

Perhaps the biggest game of the final season run-in sees City host Spurs at the Etihad. A title decider perhaps?

Tottenham fixtures

Could Tottenham's belated move to their new home provide the catalyst for their title challenge?

Tottenham host Arsenal in what could be their final game at Wembley at the beginning of March. Before that, they must ensure they are in still touching distance of Liverpool and City with a trip to Stamford Bridge on Ferbuary 27 likely to play a big part in deciding that.

Spurs are likely to be without Dele Alli and Harry Kane for that crucial fixture but if Spurs can maintain pace while their key duo are recovering from injury, their returns could have huge significance.
