Liverpool make transfer decision over former Bristol City youngster wanted by Rangers and Swansea City

Former Bristol City youth player Herbie Kane is to be made available for loan this January transfer window by Liverpool.

The Mirror report that the youngster could be on his way out of Anfield in the next month - although it is unclear if it is on a permanent deal or a loan.

Kane who came through the youth ranks at the Robins, joined Liverpool’s youth set-up in 2013 but is yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Reds.

Despite a lack of top flight football under his belt, Kane enjoyed a successful loan spell last season and has previously been nominated for the European Golden Boy award.

Last season the young Bristolian was on loan at League One side, Doncaster Rovers, where he impressed all season, including against Bristol Rovers.

During his time in Yorkshire, Kane made 49 appearances in all competitions scoring seven goals, an impressive return from midfield.

After just two EFL cup appearances this season, Kane is being made available again with a queue of Championship clubs ready to pounce for his signature.

Clubs such as Charlton Athletic and Hull City have been mentioned of being interested in the midfielder, along with Swansea City and Scottish giants Rangers.

The Bristolian admitting back in 2015 that he still very much a City fan.

He said: “I’ve managed to get to a few games this season, and I went to Wembley when they won the Football League Trophy. That was a great day.

"Every time I’m back in Bristol I go and watch them when I can. And I really like Korey Smith and Luke Freeman as they are technical midfielders and I love the way they play."
