Gunners have bid rejected

Arsenal have had a bid of £43million for Sampdoria pair Joachim Andersen and Dennis Praet rejected.

The Serie A club are holding out for another £6million from the North London club.

The Gunners are keen to bring in centre-back Andersen, aged 23, and midfielder Praet, 25, to help boost Unai EMery's squad options for next season.

Praet is seen as Aaron Ramsey's replacement.

Coutinho speaks on future

Former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has spoken about his Barcelona future after admitting to struggles in La Liga.

The Brazilian moved to Spain 18 months ago.

"I didn't have a great season. It was below what I expect from myself and what the supporters expect from me," Coutinho said.

"But you can only gain confidence through working hard, which is what I have done and what I will continue to do."

Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with a move for the attacker, who left Anfield in a £142million deal.

United agree terms with star

According to reports in Italy, Manchester United have agreed terms with Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The two sides are a way off in terms of a transfer fee, despite a personal agreement with the player.

United have offered £40million, according to Sky Sports, but Palace want £60million.

Gazetta journalist Nicolò Schira tweeted: "It's confirmed! ManchesterUnited want to close for Aaron WanBissaka. He is the first choice of Solskjear as a RB. Agreement with him for a contact until 2024. Now RedDevils are talking with CrystalPalace to finalize the deal. transfers MUFC mutd"

Meanwhile Hungary boss Marco Rossi has compared new United signing Daniel James to Ronaldo.

"In the past I played against a very fast player who, according to me, was the best after Maradona - Ronaldo," added the Hungary manager.

"He was just not known for speed, but for everything. His acceleration looked like James, though at the moment the skills are a little bit different."

Spurs star sends message

Jan Vertonghen has told wantaway team-mate Christain Eriksen to stay at Tottenham next season.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are keen on the Dane.

"Obviously when the transfer window starts there are a lot of rumours, but there were rumours last year and everyone stayed together, so I'm hopeful,” Vertonghen told Sky Sports News.

"Christian is a great player. I have known him since he was 16, played with him since he was 16 or 17 [at Ajax] and I hope he's with Tottenham next season. He's an exceptional player."

Legend on Robertson

Sir Kenny Dalglish says Andy Robertson has no need to leave Liverpool despite being linked with Barcelona.

The Reds legend said: “Andy Robertson must wake up every morning and think it’s Christmas Day,”

“That’s why I don’t believe he’ll be considering leaving Liverpool for any other football club at home or abroad.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool have decided against making a shock move for Bundesliga veteran Max Kruse in order to give youngsters a chance next term.

The Echo report that Jurgen Klopp will place faith in Rhian Brewster and Divock Origi next season.
