Liverpool make profit on Allan transfer despite outcast not making first-team appearance

Forgotten Liverpool man Allan has completed a permanent move away from Anfield.

The Brazilian, full name Allan Rodrigues de Souza, joined the club in 2015 after impressing in an international youth tournament.

Liverpool paid around £500,000 for the midfielder, who is now 22, pipping a host of clubs to his signature.

He was tipped to be one of the leading youngsters in world football at the time but Liverpool have faced persistent work permit issues since signing him.

And after six loan spells away from Anfield, he has now completed a permanent return to his homeland with Atletico Mineiro announcing his arrival.

A £2.5m deal has been agreed between the two clubs with Allan now linking up with his new teammates ahead of next season.

The Brazilian initially moved to Finnish side SJK on loan in 2015 before another further temporary spells in Belgium, Germany and Greece.

He joined Fluminense last February and they were interested in signing him permanently, opening talks with Liverpool.

But they missed out and Allan has now returned to Brazil with Atletico Mineiro.

Liverpool have already let youngsters Rhian Brewster and Herbie Kane go out on loan this month to aid their development.

Brewster has completed a loan move to Championship side Swansea, with Kane joining Hull on a deal until the end of the season.

The Reds also announced midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies has joined Cercle Brugge on loan.
