For a team that are reigning Premier League and world champions, it seems a curious matter to ponder.
But recent events surely compelled it to be asked.
Have people been underestimating this Liverpool side?
Given recent injuries and absences, there was a certain sense of trepidation among supporters as Leicester City, the leaders going into the weekend, came to visit, Brendan Rodgers returning to his former stomping ground.
With several pundits expecting a tough evening for the Reds, it was in some ways understandable.
After all, Liverpool were without their main central defensive partnership Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, their top scorer Mohamed Salah, most creative player Trent Alexander-Arnold and skipper Jordan Henderson.
Oh, and Leicester had already won at Manchester City and Arsenal this season.
The manner, then, in which Jurgen Klopp’s side tamed, dominated and then destroyed the Foxes sent out a shuddering message to those wanting to wrest the championship from their grasp.
The starting line-up may have been markedly different to the one that strolled to the title mere months ago.
But this is still Liverpool, Klopp’s Liverpool, the indomitable spirit, togetherness and sheer talent evident deep into the squad.

There were shades of the 4-0 Boxing Day win at the King Power Stadium last term that ultimately copper-bottomed their title credentials.
If anything, the lengthy absentee list meant this was an even more impressive result.
Every player excelled, with vice-captain James Milner and teenager Curtis Jones – at differing ends of their careers – particularly outstanding, Diogo Jota again playing with the carefree attitude rarely seen from such a big-money signing.
Indeed, only the form of Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, the woodwork and a hair’s breadth goalline technology call prevented Liverpool racking up a cricket score.
Three, though, was more than enough to ensure a 64th successive home league game without defeat, an astonishing new club record.
The only shame, of course, is there were no Reds fans inside Anfield to see such a magnificent performance.
But if Klopp’s men keep this up, there’s every chance another title challenge will be ongoing by the time supporters return. Liverpool may well be better than any of us truly realised.
