Liverpool loan or sell: 5 outcasts Jurgen Klopp must make transfer decision on

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his side can challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.

The Reds secured third place last campaign despite suffering a number of devastating injuries and will be looking to mount a serious bid for glory with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez back to full fitness.

Before that can happen, the Liverpool boss must continue to deal with outgoings and incomings.

Marko Grujic and Taiwo Awoniyi are the two latest players heading out of the club on a permanent basis, moving to Porto and Union Berlin respectively.

Mirror Sport have taken a look at five other players that the Reds must make decisions on...

1. Harry Wilson

The 24-year-old winger seems certain to move on this summer after a number of years at the club.

Wilson has spent the last four seasons out on loan and now looks set to leave on a permanent basis.

Fulham are understood to be leading the chase to sign the Reds' academy graduate, who has showcased his ability during spells at Hull City, Derby County, Bournemouth and Cardiff City.

Wilson is likely to earn Liverpool a fee in the region of £15million, despite only making two first-team appearances for the club.

2. Loris Karius

Loris Karius is still on Liverpool's books, but for how much longer?

The German shot-stopper has not featured for the club since his infamous showing in the 2018 Champions League final versus Real Madrid and it's likely this remains the case.

Both Adrian and Caoimhin Kelleher are ahead of Karius regarding team selection, painting a clear picture of his future at the club.

Liverpool have already loaned the 28-year-old to Besiktas for two seasons and Union Berlin last campaign, but are expected to move him on this summer.

Discussing his future during an interview with Bild at the end of last season, he said:

"It is important to me that it fits. The club has to be up for it, I have to be up for it and the coach has to be up for it. Last year taught me again that you have to exchange ideas intensively with those responsible and that you really have to pay attention to your intuition.

"I don’t know if it has to be something completely exotic. But Spain, Italy – I can already imagine something like that, if it fits."

3. Ben Woodburn

A forgotten figure at Anfield.

Woodburn burst onto the scene at Liverpool as a 17-year-old during the 2016/17 season, but has been very little since.

The 21-year-old has represented Sheffield United, Oxford United and Blackpool on loan and is now looking for his next destination.

Woodburn is far down in the Reds' pecking order and will benefit from another loan or a permanent switch.

4. Divock Origi

It may be time to bid farewell to one of Liverpool's cult heroes.

Origi has produced some of the club's most memorable moments in recent seasons, producing vital strikes in the Merseyside Derby, famous Champions League comeback against Barcelona and subsequent European Cup final.

Often the man for the big occasion, the Belgian forward has struggled to maintain consistency and prove to Klopp that he should be a regular starter within the side.

A loan move is not likely to suit club or player, with a permanent exit the desired outcome for both parties.

5. Sheyi Ojo

Ojo penned a new five-year contract with the Reds in August 2018, committing his long-term future to the club.

The 24-year-old hasn't been presented with the opportunity to make his mark since then, however.

Representing Wigan Athletic, Wolves, Fulham, Reims, Rangers and Cardiff City during the past six years, Ojo has gained his fair share of experience.

Plenty of EFL sides would likely be interested in striking a deal for the Liverpool academy graduate, who was part of England's Under-20 World Cup winning squad in 2017.
