Liverpool are being linked with a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente.
The Reds are likely to be credited with an interest in a host of different midfielders between now and transfer deadline day next week. Llorente is the next player to have arrived on that particular list.
According to Spanish news outlet Fichajes , Llorente’s time with Atletico could be coming to an end in the near future. It has been suggested that the 27-year-old could be looking for a new club this summer.

The report states that Llorente’s stance at Atletico has changed due to a positional shift in manager Diego Simeone’s system. It has been claimed that the Spanish club could give the green light to sanction the player’s departure.
Liverpool are then linked with a potential "bombshell" move for Llorente should he leave Atletico. He signed for the Spanish club from Real Madrid in 2019 for around £42million and recently signed a new contract which runs until 2027.
Llorente already has a connection with Liverpool, after scoring a brace against them in the Champions League last-16 tie at Anfield in March 2020. That match was special for Llorente, and he would later make a personal decision to make sure he remembered that night.
A couple of weeks after that match, Llorente posted on social media about a new addition to his family with a pet dog. He decided to name the dog in honour of that match, announcing that he had given his new pet the name “Anfield”.
