Liverpool line up confirmed for Southampton as Jurgen Klopp brings back Fabinho

Fabinho makes his first Premier League start since November 23 as Liverpool take on Southampton at Anfield.

The Brazilian suffered ankle ligament damage in the 1-1 draw with Napoli on November 27 but is now back fit as he starts alongside Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum in the midfield three.

That one change for Jurgen Klopp sees Divock Origi drop to the substitutes' bench with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain expected to take up a place on the left side of the front three against his former club.

That means Alisson continues in goal behind a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.

As expected, Sadio Mane misses out entirely through injury, but Klopp has still been able to name a strong bench for the visit from Ralph Hasenhuttl's Saints.

Takumi Minamino, Joel Matip and Naby Keita all feature, while there's a return for Adam Lallana after his recovery from a virus.

Liverpool can go 22 points clear with a victory at Anfield this afternoon.

Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho; Salah, Firmino, Oxlade-Chamberlain

Substitutes: Adrian, Lovren, Keita, Minamino, Lallana, Origi, Matip.
