Liverpool line up confirmed for Monterrey as Virgil van Dijk misses out in Club World Cup

Jordan Henderson will start at centre-back for the first time for Liverpool after Virgil van Dijk was ruled out of their FIFA Club World Cup semi-final.

Van Dijk is absent through illness for the game against Mexican side Monterrey in the Qatar capital Doha this evening at the Khalifa International Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp has made a total of five changes from the side that beat Watford 2-0 in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday.

Henderson, the Reds skipper, will partner Joe Gomez at the heart of defence, while Trent Alexander-Arnold has been rested to the bench.
