Liverpool line up confirmed as Jurgen Klopp gets fitness boost

Virgil van Dijk has been named in the starting line-up for Liverpool's FIFA Club World Cup final against Flamengo this evening.

Van Dijk returns having missed the semi-final against Monterrey on Wednesday through illness.

The Dutchman is one of four changes Jurgen Klopp has made to his team for the clash  at the Khalifa International Stadium here in Doha.

As expected, both Roberto Firmino – who scored the injury-time winner against Monterrey – and Sadio Mane return to the attack to join Mohamed Salah.

Trent Alexander-Arnold steps back in on the right side of defence alongside Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson.

Jordan Henderson, an emergency centre-back in midweek, moves into a more accustomed role in defensive midfield, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita continuing in an attacking engine room.

And Gini Wijnaldum is on the bench, which includes young trio Harvey Elliott, Ki-Jana Hoever and Sepp van den Berg, who all appeared in the Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat at Aston Villa on Tuesday.

LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Keita; Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Subs: Adrian, Wijnaldum, Milner, Lallana, Shaqiri, Origi, Jones, Hoever, Elliott, Van den Berg, Williams, Lonergan.
