Burnley will be in the Championship again next season having been unable to reach the standard required in the Premier League once again.
The Clarets finished with 100 points in the second tier in 2024/25 under Scott Parker, who now has three Championship promotions under his belt.
But he could be set to part ways with Burnley amid links to a Liverpool legend currently out of work.

Steven Gerrard has been waiting to return to management since leaving Saudi club Al-Ettifaq in January 2025.
And according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook, the Liverpool great is now tax exempt from his spell in the Middle East and on the lookout for jobs.
Burnley could be a viable option for Gerrard, who enjoyed success with Rangers before a more difficult period at Aston Villa.
Parker’s Burnley future is said to be “in the balance” and he could yet “depart amicably”.
Gerrard could be in the frame for that job, and he has also been linked with a move to Championship side Bristol City.
The Robins will be without a manager come the summer after 78-year-old Roy Hodgson’s interim tenure comes to an end.
Taking a job in the second tier could be a shrewd decision for Gerrard, even if there could be vacancies at Premier League clubs in the near future.
His former England team-mate Frank Lampard dropped down to the Championship to become Coventry manager, and he has reaped the rewards after guiding them to promotion.
Gerrard would hope to have a similar impact if he were to take the Burnley job, although guiding Bristol City to the Premier League would be a considerably more difficult challenge.
In FourFourTwo’s view, taking a job at Championship level makes sense for Gerrard and would be an opportunity to increase his stock, particularly after an extended spell without a job.
