Liverpool legend takes aim at Tottenham Hotspur star at fault for Manchester City goal

Manchester City tasted victory over Tottenham Hotspur for the second consecutive game but it must have tasted sweeter to pick up three points in the Premier League following midweek heartbreak.

Pep Guardiola's side came away as 1-0 winners thanks to Phil Foden's early goal at the Etihad Stadium and went back top of the Premier League by a single point over Liverpool.

Sergio Aguero found himself in acres of space to assist the City youngster who coolly headed the ball into Paulo Gazzaniga's net.

The reason Mauricio Pochettino selected Paulo Gazzaniga instead of Hugo Lloris against Man City

“There’s plenty of Spurs players there, he has to look over his right shoulder and see where the danger is. There’s no immediate danger in front of him to concern him, so look over your right shoulder and see what’s happening. It’s a classic case of ball watching.”

“From here on, it’s a fantastic header from Aguero. It takes the goalkeeper out of the picture and it’s a simple enough header for young Foden. It’s avoidable if you’re Tottenham.” 'Our transfer policy stinks' - these Man United fans are outraged with Kieran Trippier rumours

Guardiola had plenty of praise for his goalscorer following the match.

He said: "Now I am a genius he scored a goal! Phil is an incredibly talented player and we need to handle him in the right moment. He has the quality to arrive in the box. I trust him."
