Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard's water business enjoys growing reputation after award scoop

An alkaline partly owned by former Liverpool captain was recognised at an awards ceremony in Liverpool city centre.

Angel Revive, owned by Steven Gerrard and Mark Doyle, was named e-commerce company of the year at the The Fitness Professional Awards on Saturday night.

Steven, who now manages Rangers FC, could not attend the event due to a home game on Sunday but his wife Alex did attend and Steven delivered a personal video message to the audience at the Hilton hotel.

The Rangers boss said how proud he was to accept the award on behalf of Angel Revive and encouraged the audience to 'get drunk and enjoy themselves.'

The start-up was founded by Netherton man Mark Doyle after he discovered a natural spring deep in West Lancashire.

The water is now available in hundreds of shops across the country including the WH Smiths.

Mark has since launched a range of alkaline based products from shakes to protein bars.

Mark said to the ECHO : "We were proud to be recognised at this prestigious event. Steven is a committed partner and always has time for the business. "

Other awards on the night included Best Male PT which went to Kevin Poole and Best Female PT which went to Deana Mogan.

The best gym chain was scooped by The Gym Group and the best independent gym went to Dedicated Fitness.

Jase Porter, founder of Liverpool Fitness Professional Awards, said: “We were so excited to host our biggest awards ceremony to date, in partnership with Fitness PR who are extremely experienced in taking brands to a national platform and putting on fantastic events.

“Judging by the reaction of the 300 guests we did just that whilst raising money for our dedicated Liverpool charity An Hour For Others.  Next year we’ll be hosting more Fitness Professional Awards around the country but the great city of Liverpool will always be our home.”
