Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard explains wild celebrations after Rangers beat Celtic

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has explained his passionate celebration following Rangers' 2-1 win over Celtic.

The Scottish giants pulled off their first win away at Celtic in nine years yesterday thanks to Nikola Katic's second-half header.

Gerrard showed his delight at full time by screaming down the TV cameras as he and his staff celebrated on the pitch.

The Reds hero has since discussed those wild celebrations in an interview with Sky Sports.

Gerrard said: "You bring the camera to me, to my face, I've just won and I'm emotional so I'm going to enjoy it."

He added: "It's a big win, we've come here and we've dominated a good team, a successful team.

"And remember we're 18 months into this so we have to enjoy that, it's what football's all about.

"We'll move on quickly, I always say if we experience a big win it's about not being complacent and building on it.

"If we suffer we get a knock or a bruise and we get straight back at it again.

"People questioned whether we could cope with the last six weeks because it was so hectic and had a lot of big tests in and amongst it but the players have handled it superbly."

Rangers now trail Scottish leaders Celtic by two points but Gerrard's side have a game in hand.
