Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard battling Manchester United icon Roy Keane in car sale stakes

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard had many a battle in midfield with Manchester United icon Roy Keane but now two vehicles once owned by the former Premier League stars are going head to head in the car sale stakes.

Kop idol Gerrard, now manager of Rangers, has just steered the Ibrox outfit to their first Scottish title in a decade and could be about to renew hostilities with Keane who is reported as being in talks to take on the vacancy in the dugout at Old Firm rivals Celtic.

However, Car Dealer Magazine report that a battle has already commenced on the pages of Auto Trader as a couple of private sellers are attempting to flog luxury motors once owned by Gerrard and Keane respectively.

A 13-plate Overfinch Range Rover built for Gerrard with “no expense spared” is on the market for £47,999.

The article states: “It has 23-inch wheels, an in-car fridge, panoramic roof and full cream leather interior.

“Gerrard owned the car for a year when he signed a contract with LA Galaxy. Reportedly he had a similar car built for use in the States.

The current owner bought the car from Overfinch and it has 20,000 miles on the clock.”

Meanwhile, Aston Martin DB7, formerly driven by Keane, includes a letter from the retired Republic of Ireland international himself confirming there was no damage while he owned it – and a shirt signed by the entire 1999 Manchester United treble-winning squad!

Priced at £29,500 it is up for sale exactly a year after it was sold on Auto Trader and the article adds: “The seller says he needs a more ‘family friendly’ car and is hoping the shirt adds to the novelty value of the car.

“We’re surprised he isn’t throwing in a prawn sandwich too.”
