Liverpool legend shows off new tattoo and is inundated with pictures of other Reds' artwork

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has been inundated by pictures of fans' tattoos after he revealed his own debut ink.

Aldridge, who scored 63 times for the Reds in 104 appearances, got his first tattoo in dedication to Liverpool's Champions League final win in Madrid.

The artwork which was drawn by Channel 4 Tattoo Fixers' star Jay Hutton features a Liver Bird below six stars and 'You'll Never Walk Alone' is etched onto the iconic striker's right calf.

Speaking to LFCTV, Aldridge revealed his tattoo live on air alongside artist Jay, and admitted he had fulfilled a year-long promise when the sketch was completed.

The former goalscorer said: "It was going back a year before the Kiev game, me and my friend Pat said if we get another one [Champions League] we'll get tattoos."

Liverpool lost against Real Madrid but heroically fought their way back to the 2019 showdown and Aldridge didn't go back on his words.

He told: "We said if it happens this year we'll get it done and so we had to get it done."

In a post shared to Twitter the 60-year-old shared a picture of his inked leg and wrote: "Made up with my first tattoo folks! It's in respect of all them magnificent teams I’ve been lucky to support and have gave me so much delight for 55 years! YNWA, Never give up."

Following Aldridge's big reveal fans then inundated the ex-Tranmere Rovers star with pictures of their own Liverpool inspired tattoos.

One fan had the names of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson etched onto his feet.

Right-back 'Trent' occupies the right foot, while left-footer 'Robbo' is drawn onto the supporter's left foot.

Another supporter responded with a fresh sketch of Jurgen Klopp lifting the prestigious trophy.

Lee Perry warned Aldridge: "You will want more now Aldo, very addictive."
